LATEST NEWS - Securing access to raw materials an EU and G8 priority.
Access to raw materials was on the agenda of the G8 Summit on 6-8 June. The G8 final Declaration includes a declaration on Responsibility for raw materials: transparency and sustainable growth. At a press conference on 5 June, Commission Vice-President G. Verheugen declared the Commission is committed to improve the conditions of access to raw materials.
First European Minerals Day 2007 - a successful event! On 10-13 May 2007, minerals producers all over Europe invited the public and school classes to "explore the world of minerals". 106 sites in 17 countries took part, welcoming all together over 30.000 visitors.
